Have you ever asked someone, “How are you doing?” and then they proceed to give you a laundry list of their woes and miseries until you wish you hadn’t asked? It’s like you’ve walked right into a valley of their mess as they continue to voice why their enjoyment of life is low.
I don’t believe I know of anyone who hasn’t experienced life. I mean let’s face it, everyone goes through somethings from time to time. Life isn’t fair. But I sincerely believe though life isn’t fair, we can put on our glasses of possibility and see life in living color instead of in black and white.
I can remember when I lived in New York city one of the ladies who I rode to work with would tell me, “Deana, you’re always upbeat. It is such a pleasure greeting you because you respond with encouraging remarks.” Boy if she only knew the things that I was facing. For the moment though I’d forgotten what life was handing me and realized in that moment, I viewed life in living color. What if one could keep a steady appetite of positivity (I like to refer it as faith…Forming Answers in the Heart…). It is my sincere belief that life hands us what we expect and if we expect black and white, that’s exactly what we will attract.
Let’s look at life from another point of view:
√ Never take life as is. Design it as you want it to be.
Do you remember when you were a kid and your coloring book expressed who you were? I bet you colored outside of the lines and you probably colored the grass purple and the sky green. Why? You adhered to your own rules. Your imagination didn’t see your little coloring world through anyone eyes but your own. But you viewed it in living color with freedoms to explore beyond the status quo.
So what happened? You grew up. But you are still you. You still have an imagination. Your imagination is full of thought processes that you house in your mind. What if you replace the “black and white” views of life (negative thoughts) with “colorful” views of life (positive thoughts or faith). Don’t see the glass half-empty. View it as half-full. See, this changes your perspective. Impossibilities suddenly become possibilities. It’s a better view.
√ To accomplish great things, you must not only act, but dream; not only plan, but believe.
I know you want to accomplish great things. When you colored in your coloring book as a child you did so because you wanted to. No one forced you to. You just did. You acted on what you wanted to accomplish and that was to color in your coloring book. I’m sure you saw the pictures in your mind of how you wanted the colors to unfold before you began to color. You saw a yellow rooster and that’s the color you painted it. You believed it was okay because it was your own coloring book and your own little world.
Today, your world has grown bigger but the rules haven’t changed. I dare you to act on what you want to accomplish. I dare you to dream big and most of all believe no matter what you actually see in black and white, you can create a better view it in living color. Purpose to be a part of something somewhere that is larger than you. Stretch beyond the norm. Form the image in your mind, meditate on it all the time then speak it out of your heart. View life in the color of your wildest dreams!
